City of Owosso recently issued the following announcement.
Last night, Council directed the city attorney to draft an ordinance allowing adult-use marijuana businesses to operate in the city; effectively opting in to MRTMA. The current moratorium on adult-use businesses will expire upon the adoption of the draft ordinance. The ordinance must be considered over the course of two council meetings and it goes into effect 20 days after the second meeting if is approved by council. The ordinance will allow the 4 medical provisioning center licenses to apply for an adult-use license and it will allow all current and future medical growers, processors, transporters, and labs to also apply for an adult-use marijuana license.; subject to the State's rules. Council also passed a motion directing the Planning Commission to explore and recommend options regarding the 5 new types of adult-use licenses.
