City of Laingsburg issued the following announcement on Oct. 22.
It’s been 18 months since we initiated a grant proposal to the State of Michigan to build a community recycling and waste reduction center in Laingsburg.
We couldn’t have arrived at this point without you, our community of supporters! This has truly been a community-driven enterprise and it will continue to be. There is much work to be done before we have the building fully completed and operational (perhaps in December). We simply wanted to share our elation that our collective dream is a bit closer to reality.
We thank you for your support and will let you know when we stage the grand opening. Meanwhile, we are building an expanded crew of volunteers so we can open the facility twice a week as opposed to once a month. One 3-4 hour shift a month is all that’s needed from any volunteer. Let us know if you are up for joining this all-volunteer community effort.
