FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024. As part of our ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at DeKalb Times have requested records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, 5 ILCS 140.
Specifically, we have asked for a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024 till September 26, 2024. The requested details include the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and the amount paid.
As media professionals dedicated to gathering and reporting news to the public, access to public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. These responsibilities include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. We believe that as members of the media disseminating information to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
