Tips to Prevent Frozen Water Lines
To help keep water lines from freezing, residents are advised to keep water running at a drip through a faucet farthest from the meter. Residents are advised to run water through their lines regularly until the weather warms up.
Running water through the pipes will help plumbing and lines from freezing during the extreme weather predicted over the next few days in the Perry-area.
Other preventive advice includes checking the basement for broken windows and leaving kitchen/bath cabinets open to prevent pipes from freezing and bursting.
If it is very cold outside and the water pressure begins to drop, it is a good indication that your pipes may be freezing.
