Here’s our Fantastic Friday Five to conclude the week with five points of pride

Here’s our Fantastic Friday Five to conclude the week with five points of pride. Have a great weekend and GO TROJANS!

1. Don't miss the OHS Drama Club’s special event, Cookies & Characters, on Saturday, November 5, 2-4 p.m. at the Owosso Performing Arts Center Lobby! Children are welcome to meet the cast of the Wizard of Oz, have a cookie, make crafts, and take pictures. $15 at the door.

2. Please join us in wishing our OHS Girls Cross Country team success at the state finals on Saturday at Michigan International Speedway. Best of luck to our student-athletes: Emma Johnson, Josie Jenkinson, Julianna West, Natalie Summerland, Libby Summerland, Emma Crandell, and Claire Agnew!

3. Michigan College Month is held each October and Owosso High School staff are #allin4owosso as they mentor all grades levels to #ReachHigherOHS, learn about post-secondary planning for college, skilled trade schools, job exploration, and military opportunities. Counselors, teachers and support staff participated in College Spirit Week and alumni competition aside, the Class of 2023 seniors are off to a great start in their career and college exploration, and submitting applications. Checkout the Scholarship Zone next, to learn all about the local, state and regional scholarships to earn free money for college and trade schools: www.ReachHigherOHS.org/scholarships.

4. OHS Girls Swim is competing at their conference meet in Fenton today and tomorrow. The team has had a spectacular winning season and we wish them continued success!

5. Bryant students engineered candy corn catapults on Halloween. They made the bases as a team and then problem-solved what would be the best way to launch a piece of candy corn using the other items needed for construction. Students shared their ideas with each other working on their communication skills. Once construction was complete, they had a contest to see how many points each team could score on a bullseye ring with 5,10, and 100 counts. Engineering + math + communication=’s great learning fun!
