Fantastic Friday Five to conclude the week with five points of pride

Here’s our Fantastic Friday Five to conclude the week with five points of pride. Have a great weekend and GO TROJANS!

1. Mr. Rob Mallory’s second year Construction Trades class at Owosso High School completed a two-day project this week at Central Elementary’s playground. The high school students constructed a Gaga Ball pit with materials funded by Central’s PTO. Owosso High School offers the most Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses, formerly known as vocational education, in the county. What a great partnership that benefited our high school and elementary students!

2. The OHS Equestrian Team is riding into the MIHA State Finals on October 13-16, at the Midland County Fairgrounds. Use this link to access the schedule and livestream: https://www.miha.org/live-video-streaming/.  Follow along with all the details by “liking” Owosso Equestrian Team on Facebook. Your OHS Equestrian Team members are Sami Jo Sovis, Assistant Coach; Sydney Cairns, Head Coach; Barett Yoho, Madison Bradley, Tayloe Spielman, Evelyn Harrand, Hannah Hart, Gracie Meyer, and Karley VanWormer, Assistant Coach. Good luck!

3. Lincoln High School elected new members of the Knights of the Round Table (KORT) this week. Congratulations to these student leaders who look are working on recycling and school culture and climate projects, and more. Pictured are Phoenix Nees, Co-Treasurer; Mars Millar, Co-Treasurer; Cassidy Morence, Secretary; Seth Gibbs, President; and MaKayla Bolin, Vice President.

4. Bryant kindergarten and fifth grade book buddies collaborated on an act of kindness recently. The students wrote letters with words of encouragement to those impacted by Hurricane Ian.

5. Homecoming Spirit Week is a great time in all Owosso schools! Our students and staff had fun with the daily themes like rockstar day, western wear, career day, blue and gold day, and more! The homecoming parade begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the Owosso v. Clio football game at historic Willman Field at 7 p.m.
