Here’s our Fantastic Friday Five to conclude the week with five points of pride. GO TROJANS!
1. All kindergarten students have third grade buddies at Central School and these relationships are instrumental in helping our kindergartners feel comfortable in school and provide important leadership opportunities for our third graders.
2. The Owosso Equestrian Team is Division B District Champs! OHS freshmen Evelyn Harrand, Gracie Meyer, Tayloe Spielman, Barett Yoho, and sophomore Hannah Hart scored 810 points at the district event, which catapults them to the Regional competition scheduled for September 30-October 2 at the Shiawassee County Fair Grounds.
3. Last Friday, all OPS students had a lesson on the Constitution. At Emerson Elementary, each grade and or teacher did something a little different but they all learned and discussed the importance of our Constitution.
4. Members of the Owosso Public Schools Foundation board delivered donuts to all schools and departments today to show their appreciation for the OPS team! The OPS Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing quality educational programs with mini-grants and the Teacher and Staff Member of the Year Awards.
5. This morning, OMS students gathered to wish former paraprofessional Ryley Turk farewell as he departs for a tour with the United States Army in Syria. Students made cards for Mr. Turk and gave him a true Owosso Trojan farewell on Friday morning.
