The City of Corunna will conduct a public hearing on May 2, 2022 at 7:15 pm EST at the Corunna McCurdy Event Center - Lower Level, 457 Emma Drive, Corunna Michigan 48817 for the purpose of affording an opportunity to examine and submit comments on the proposed project application for a CDBG grant.
The City of Corunna proposes to request $2,000,000 in CDBG funds to construct a new 300,000 gallon water storage tank which is a critical component of the City’s water system, along with other local funding to benefit at least 51% low to moderate income persons. NO persons will be displaced as a result of the proposed activities.
Further information, including a copy of THE CITY OF CORUNNA’s Community Development Plan and CDBG application will be available for review on April 28, 2022. To inspect the documents, please contact City Clerk/Treasurer Jennifer Stout at 989.743.3650, or review at Corunna City Hall (402 North Shiawassee Street, Corunna Michigan 48817) offices during normal business hours (Monday – Thursday). An electronic PDF of the documents are also available on the City of Corunna’s website at www.coruna-mi.gov. Comments may be submitted in writing through May 2, 2022 2:00 pm EST or made in person at the public hearing.
The City of Corunna has received and met all program requirements on the following past CDBG grants:
- Sewer System Evaluation Survey - $600,000
- Downtown Parking Facilities - $240,000
- Storm/Sanitary Sewer Improvements - $150,000
