On April 27, Sheriff BeGole participated in the 2022 Crime Victims Rights Candlelight Vigil at the State Capitol as fellow Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough received the “Beyond the Call of Duty” award.

The vigil was held to remember and honor all those within our community who have been touched by the injustice of crime and challenges the State and the Nation to confront and remove barriers to achieving justice for all victims of crime. Sheriff BeGole stated, “The heartbreaking and emotional testimonies we heard tonight are lasting reminders of why it is important to be ever vigilant on crime and the effects it has on our community”
