Newlothrop Area Public Schools issued the following announcement on Dec. 17.
It notified , December 17th, one student in our Jr./Sr. High School has tested positive for COVID-19. We are responsible for notifying you of an exposure.
You have been notified today by our Shiawassee County Health Department Liaison if your student was exposed. If your student does not qualify as a close contact, you will not be notified by our Shiawassee County Health Department Liaison. What isolation & quarantine action was taken Please continue to monitor your child(ren) for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and do not send your child to school if they are ill. Also, please do not send your child(ren) to school if they are waiting for COVID-19 test results.
COVID-19 symptoms can include but are not limited to cough, fever, shortness of breath, new loss of taste or smell, headache, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
If you note any of the following signs or symptoms in your child, please contact your healthcare provider or seek a COVID-19 test by calling 2-1-1 or visiting www.michigan.gov/coronavirustest. We appreciate your continued support of keeping our staff and children healthy.
