Corunna Public Schools issued the following announcement on Dec. 1.
Kimi is a preschool teacher at Children’s Services. She has worked for the district for six years. “Thank you to the staff and Board of Education for this recognition. I have spent my teaching career at Corunna, so I have the staff and administration to thank for making me the teacher I am. My dad went to Corunna. I went to Corunna, so receiving this award has really made it come full circle,” said Kimi.
“One thing you may be surprised to learn about me is that I despise glitter,” said Kimi.
Kimi said, “I have three things on my bucket list: take my family to Alaska, see the wave rocks in Arizona, and hunt alligators.”
Kimi said, “The one thing that sets Corunna apart from other districts is our preschool program being fully inclusive and its high-quality front loads that set children up for success.”
“I will always remember the days when I see students out in public and the child tells their parent “That’s my teacher.”, especially when the child is from past years with me,” said Kimi.
“The person that most positively influenced me was Melissa Princinsky, my second-grade teacher. She made me love school and want to be a teacher,” said Kimi.
In her spare time, Kimi enjoys trail riding , coyote hunting, and enjoying the cattle and hay farm she calls home.
