Morrice Area Schools Families Announcement

Announcement

Morrice Area Schools issued the following announcement on Sept. 20.

Over the past several weeks, we have been brainstorming solutions to the current national, state and local bus driver shortage. After careful consideration of all scenarios, the district has decided to reduce from five daily bus routes to four daily routes. In doing so, this may cause your student to ride a different bus. In addition to this, your student might have a different pickup and drop off time. This change in routes will not have a large impact on the time students are on the bus. However, you will notice more students on each bus. We understand this is a short term solution to a national shortage of drivers. In the event we are fortunate enough to hire another driver in the future, Morrice Area Schools will reevaluate the transportation situation at that time. As a reminder, students are required to wear a mask while on the school bus. Currently, there is a federal mandate requiring all passengers to wear a mask while on public transportation. A school bus is considered public transportation. Please take a few minutes and review the new bus routes attached. These new bus routes will take effect on Monday, September 27th, 2021. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we implement these changes. Note, the estimated times on the attached bus schedule is exactly that, an estimation. As always, please feel free to contact any of our building level offices if you have any questions.
