CITY OF PORTAGE: Traditional Holiday

City of Portage issued the following announcement on Nov. 25

To ensure the health and safety of Portage residents, Mayor Patricia Randall and Portage City Council Members will hold a virtual tree lighting ceremony as part of the December 1, City Council meeting. The ceremony will feature readings from the “I Love Portage” essay contest winners. Santa will welcome you and tell you about the places that you can visit with your family at your leisure, such as “Reindeer Lane”, “North Pole Trail” and Santa’s lighted sleigh, which is the perfect place to take family photos. You’ll also learn where to drop your letters to Santa before going live for the countdown to light the Mayor’s Tree and Veteran’s Memorial Park. Experience the expanded Holiday Card and Tree Walk and sparkling holiday lights while strolling with your family and friends during December. 

Virtual Tree Lighting:  Tuesday, December 1, 7 PM at the City Council Meeting

Self-Guided Tours: Tuesday, December 1 - Sunday, January 3 at Celery Flats Historical Area (7335 Garden Lane) & Veteran's Memorial Park (399 Library Lane)
