City of Owosso issued the following announcement on April 5.
This post is focused on activities in Owosso City Parks.
The Governor’s E.O. requires we prevent the spread of COVID-19. While outdoor activities are encouraged, the City of Owosso is concerned some residents are not “remaining at least six feet from people outside the individual’s household” and are using “high-touch” equipment such as playscapes.
To help enforce these rules and protect our community, DPW and Owosso Police will begin taping or fencing off all park equipment (except hiking and walking trails).
Additionally, MDHHS issued an order on April 2 setting a civil penalty of up to $1,000 for violations of the Governor’s E.O. The Owosso Police Department will be working with the health department to enforce these orders.
If you would like to report a violation of the Governor’s order, please call the non-emergency number for dispatch at 989-743-9111. Please remember 911 is only for emergencies.
