Shiawassee County Treasurer issued the following announcement on Aug. 30
The Treasurer Appointment Committee announces it is currently accepting applications for their consideration. The Committee comprised of the Probate Judge, Thomas J. Dignan, County Clerk, Caroline D. Wilson and Prosecuting Attorney, Deana M. Finnegan is authorized, by statute, to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of Thomas Dwyer. The appointment would be for the remainder of the current term ending December 31, 2020.
The Committee is requesting candidates send a county application, resume and cover letter describing the applicant's specific qualifications for the appointment. The county application is available on the county's website at: http://www.shiawassee.net/Administration/County-Application .
The application, resume and cover letter should be addressed to Shiawassee County Clerk, Caroline Wilson, Historical Courthouse - 2nd Floor, 208 North Shiawassee Street, Corunna, Ml 48817 and received no later than 5:00 p.m. on September 13, 2019.
Desired experience could include managing a small staff, managing an office budget, familiarity with collection and distribution of tax roll levies and investment and distribution of funds to local municipalities. Applicant must be a Shiawassee County resident.
For 2019, the annual salary of the Treasurer position has been established by the Board of County Commissioners as $61,152. The position also offers health and retirement benefits.
