City of Owosso issued the following announcement on Aug. 27

PROJECT STATUS REPORT

2019 Street Program-Contract 1

1.     Palmer Avenue from Gute Street to Prindle Street:  Street work is completed.  Open to traffic date was May 13th.

2.     W Williams Street from Shiawassee Street to Washington Street:  Street work is completed.  Open to traffic date was August 23rd.  Final walk through and punch list items yet to be completed.

 2019 Street Program-Contract 2

1.     Abrey Avenue from Melinda Street to Allendale Avenue:  Street work is completed.  Open to traffic date was August 16th.  Final walk through and punch list items yet to be completed.

2.     Allendale Avenue from Gould Street to east city limits:  Street work is completed.  Open to traffic date was August 16th.  Final walk through and punch list items yet to be completed.

3.     Monroe Street from McMillan to east city limits:  Street work is completed.  Open to traffic date was August 16th.  Final walk through and punch list items yet to be completed.

4.     North Street from west city limits to N Chipman Street:  Street work is completed.  Open to traffic date was August 16th.  Final walk through and punch list items yet to be completed.

 2019 Street Program-Contract 3

1.     Ryan Street from S Chipman Street to Cedar Street:  Existing road pulverized and curbs removed for new road. Storm sewer work underway. Plans for September are to complete storm sewer, excavate and build new road base, construct curb and gutter, drive approaches, and ADA sidewalk ramps by mid-September, then pave street near end of same month. Open to traffic date is rescheduled from September 20 to mid-October 2019.

2.     Seventh Street from W Oliver Street to W King Street:  Project delayed to mid-September due to additional work on other project sites. .  Open to traffic date is rescheduled from September 20 to mid-October 2019.

 MDOT Local Safety Grant Project

1.     S Washington Street from Gute Street to Corunna Avenue:  Project started June 11, 2019. Storm sewer, water main, and concrete work is complete. Lawn restoration about 80% complete. Contractor preparing limestone base in advance for September 3, 2019 asphalt paving. Remaining work includes pavement markings and signing. Scheduled open to traffic date is September 13, 2019.

2019 Street Patch Program

Various locations around the city:  Project started in the north east quadrant of the city on August 26th.  Contractor will work around the city in a clockwise manner.  Work is anticipated to take 3 to 4 weeks.

2019 Sidewalk Program

The follow areas are the work area:

1.     Focus area enclosed by N Washington St, E King St, N Dewey St, and E Oliver St

2.     Residential complaint areas 

3.     Road Construction follow up areas on S Chipman St, W Stewart St, S Chestnut St, N Chipman St, Olmstead St, and Hanover St (if budget allows)

The focus area is about 75% complete.  Work will continue on E King, N Hickory, and E Oliver.  Contractor will then move to the residential complaint areas.

2019 Sanitary and Storm Sewer Rehabilitation Project

Sewer cleaning and televising work 98% complete. Gute Street, N. Chipman Street and S. Cedar Street sanitary sewer work sites are complete. Cedar Street, S, Chipman Street, Summit Street, and N. Chipman Street storm sewer work sites are complete. Contractor plans to continue working on remaining sites through October, 2019.

2020 Projects

Projects planned for street construction:

1.     S. Cedar Street from South Street to Hampton Street. Work scope includes water main replacement, select storm sewer replacement, and pavement rehabilitation. Project under design phase. Special Assessment procedures scheduled to begin September 16, 2019.

2.     Summit Street from Abbott to Rubelman Drive. Work scope includes water main replacement, pavement rehabilitation, and storm sewer improvements. Project designed and ready for contractor bids.

3.     North Street from Hickory Street to Gould Street. Work scope includes water main replacement, full street reconstruction and storm sewer replacement.  Road and storm sewer design 90% complete. Water main design will be performed by Consultant. Special Assessment procedures scheduled to begin October 7, 2019.

4.     Clark Street from Oliver Street to King Street. Work scope includes water main replacement, pavement rehabilitation, and storm sewer improvements.  Road and storm sewer design 90% complete.  Water main design will be performed by Consultant. Special Assessment procedures scheduled to begin September 16, 2019.
